Mechanical Engineer Automation & Tooling
Location: Lake Orion, MI
Long-term contract with full benefits
$40-50/hr paid weekly

We are seeking a experienced Mechanical Engineers to support the design and development of automation and general assembly systems for a major Honda tooling project. This role requires a strong background in mechanical design, hands-on engineering, and collaboration within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products and automation systems
- Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs
- Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstrations
- Perform engineering calculations to support design development
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including electrical, controls, and manufacturing
- Work closely with vendors and contractors to support design execution and implementation
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle to track development and design changes
- Ensure project timelines are met and projects remain within budget
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) or equivalent practical experience
- Approximately 10 years of mechanical design experience
- Proficiency in CATIA CAD software (required)
- Tooling experience required
- Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes
- Experience designing mechanical systems within automation or general assembly environments
Preferred Industry Experience

Automotive industry experience (Honda or similar OEMs preferred)
- Experience with general assembly or industrial automation systems
