Schedule & Work Settings
- Full-Time: 30 to 40 hours per week (Typical shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
- Part-Time: 20 to 25 hours per week (Typical shift: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
- Standby / PRN: Onboard immediately to be first in line as localized vacancies open up.
- The Setting: RNs primarily lead the school health suites, managing day-to-day student triaging, first aid, and chronic care management. (Note: 1:1 care opportunities are available but are generally assigned to LPNs first).
Key Clinical Responsibilities
In the school health suite, you will utilize your clinical skills to support a diverse student population with varying medical needs, including:
- Safe and accurate Medication Administration.
- Diabetes management and tracking.
- G-Tube / MIC-KEY Tube feedings and care.
- Tracheostomy care and monitoring.
- Implementing necessary seizure precautions and protocols.
- Performing straight and Foley catheterizations as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland or a Multi-State Compact license.
- Certification: Current CPR / BLS Certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (RN or LPN backgrounds are both valued).
- Environment: Must be oriented to a fast-paced environment and comfortable navigating technology and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Paid Onboarding & Preparation (Approx. 3 Weeks)
We ensure you are never thrown into a school setting unprepared. Our comprehensive pre-hire training takes approximately 3 weeks and includes:
- Ro Health Onboarding: Specialized paid pediatric skills training.
- PGCPS Training: A comprehensive, paid 2-week training orientation specifically tailored to Prince George's County Public Schools systems and protocols.
