Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management, following strict aseptic techniques.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, and wound care including ostomy care.
- Manage acute pain and critical conditions by implementing appropriate interventions in emergency or ICU settings with Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), infectious disease care, and geriatrics to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
- Support patients across the continuum of care including home & community care, hospice & palliative medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and pediatric or neonatal units.
- Participate in discharge planning, case management, triage assessments, and health coaching to promote recovery and wellness outside the clinical setting.
Experience
- Proven nursing experience in acute care environments such as ICU or emergency room settings; trauma medicine or Level I/II trauma center experience highly valued.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding and laboratory experience is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Skilled in advanced procedures such as ventilator management, sonography, spinal taps, dialysis support, and infectious disease protocols.
- Background in medical-surgical nursing with additional expertise in pain management, behavioral health, occupational health or family planning is advantageous.
- Ability to perform complex diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and medical imaging techniques like mammography or sonography.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations along with excellent medical terminology understanding ensures accurate documentation and patient confidentiality.
