At District 1 OSHA located in Bishopville, SC, coordinates, identifies and manages the district-wide OSHA training needs for District One. Provides assistance to all District One Employees as it relates to the Safety Program. Maintains training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) such as creating sessions, running reports, and reviewing or providing transcripts. Coordinates training for equipment operators with State Contract vendors. Manages the LMS process to include entering of external training, providing rosters and then entering completed trainee information into LMS to give credit to attendees. Reviews individual records for specific training and provides data to management or unit personnel. Provides certificates or data as requested. Coordinates the completion of the required entry-level CDL on-line training and the District One Employee Safety Training curriculum for all new hires who are required to have a CDL. Ensures that all positions requiring a CDL keep a valid CDL license within the required time frames. Enters data into the Risk Management Information System for all vehicle and equipment incidents and employee injuries. Assists county level employees with various reports. Conducts facility inspections at Lee Maintenance to ensure all SCDOT facilities related to Lee Maintenance including buildings, shop yards, satellite stockpile locations and equipment are in compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DES, DOT, NEC and ADA regulations. Ensures all facilities are in compliance with all federal, state, and local fire regulations. Maintains proper documentation, correspondence, record keeping and verification of compliance and corrective action. Assists with tracking compliance with the Third Party Tester Program. May work with Department of Motor Vehicles to ensure training compliance for SCDOT employees. Ensures space availability for training and updates the calendar for safety training events in District One. Plans, organizes, and coordinates telephone calls, emails, and meetings for training purposes. Maintains safety inspection records for District One OSHA unit.
A bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant program experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. This position requires walking for extended periods, treading rough and uneven terrain, and working in close proximity to motoring traffic and natural environmental hazards. This position requires working in an office environment, warehouse environment, and/or outside in all weather conditions. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. Requires travel as needed, and assigned.
May be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous weather or emergencies.
