Overview
HP Oilfield is committed to building and maintaining reliable oilfield equipment that supports safe and efficient field operations. The Oilfield Equipment Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, modifying, repairing, and assembling oilfield equipment. This role involves reading blueprints, welding, cutting, and assembling steel components used in equipment such as frac heaters, tanks, skids, piping systems, and other oilfield support equipment. The Fabricator works closely with the shop personnel and operations leadership to ensure equipment is built to company and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal components.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Stick welding, and LOCATION welding techniques to join various metals including sheet metal, pipe, and structural steel.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials according to specifications.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and positioning during fabrication processes.
- Measure components accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools; apply basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Fabricate ductwork, piping systems, mechanical assemblies, and custom metal parts adhering to ASME codes & standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2+ years welding or fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans.
- Experience with welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication.
- Stick welding experience is crucial.
- Knowledge of shop tools and fabrication equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety practices.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
