DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare parts for coating by correcting imperfections or rough surfaces
- Clean product to remove dust and dirt prior to coating
- Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth collection systems
- Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application
- Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
- Cure parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
- Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments
- Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance
- Check product for flaws, bubbles or imperfections
- Ensure quality standards and processes are followed
- Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment
- Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
- Log in and out of jobs for time tracking
- Perform housekeeping for machines and department to maintain clean and organized work area
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong background in powder coating and industrial painting
- Ability to handle or use hand tools
- Ability to identify and correct inconsistencies in final product
- Operate forklift
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of experience in powder coating and industrial painting
- Experience using various coating equipment including guns, hopper and booth collection systems
- Knowledge of mechanics of painting equipment
- Experience working in a team environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. frequently
- Team lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work in non-air conditioned manufacturing environment
- Able to perform powder application duties while wearing full respirator mask
- Standing 50%
- Sitting 50%
- Occasional bending and stooping
- Clean work environment
- Exposure to noise, dust, and airborne particles
- Tools provided
