Linwood Village Nursing Home is seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and organized MDS Nurse to join our clinical leadership team. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process and be committed to ensuring accurate assessments, regulatory compliance, and exceptional resident care.
The MDS Nurse is responsible for coordinating and completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments in accordance with CMS regulations and facility policies. This position works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate reimbursement, quality outcomes, and individualized resident care planning.
Complete and submit MDS assessments accurately and within required timeframes.
Coordinate the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process.
Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and facility regulations.
Participate in the development and updating of individualized care plans.
Monitor MDS schedules and assessment due dates.
Review documentation to ensure accuracy and support coding.
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, dietary, social services, and other departments.
Assist with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement processes.
Monitor Quality Measures and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
Educate nursing staff on documentation requirements related to MDS coding.
Prepare for state surveys and assist with regulatory compliance activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Current Oklahoma RN or LPN license in good standing.
MDS experience preferred (training may be available for the right candidate).
Knowledge of the RAI Manual and CMS regulations preferred.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (PointClickCare experience is a plus).
