Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift
Westerville, OH | Full-Time | Manufacturing / Industrial Maintenance
Pay: $27.50/hour
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations by maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime. This role plays a critical part in ensuring continuous production by executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing timely repairs in a fast-paced production environment.
Shift
- 2nd Shift
- Approximately 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Monday - Friday
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial production and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain equipment such as conveyors, mixers, ovens, flow wrappers, motors, drives, and related machinery
- Diagnose issues with PLCs, sensors, drives, power supplies, and control systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and work orders
- Partner with Production, QA, and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues quickly and safely
- Document maintenance activities and repairs using a CMMS system
- Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements including GMP, SQF, OSHA, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
- OR
- 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentRequired Skills & Experience
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery and conveyor systems
- Working knowledge of PLC systems such as:
- Allen Bradley
- Siemens
- Honeywell
- Schneider
- Working knowledge of:
- 480V three-phase electrical systems
- Low-voltage electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical schematics
- Blueprints
- Technical manuals
- Work orders
- Experience using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing or high-speed production environments
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance programs
- Light fabrication, cutting, and welding experience
- Technical school, trade school, or multicraft maintenance program background
- Experience with automation equipment and industrial controls
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting high-volume production
- Requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and working around industrial machinery
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and production equipment
- Strict adherence to safety and food production standards required
