Overview
The UNC Charlotte Digital and Professional Learning is seeking experienced Project Management Professionals (PMP®) to serve as contract instructors within our online Project Management Specialist Certificate program.
This program is designed for working professionals seeking the educational contact hours required to pursue PMP® certification while developing practical project management skills they can immediately apply in the workplace.
We are building a team of instructors to support learners across a five-course certificate sequence delivered in a fully online, asynchronous format.

About the Role
This position differs from a traditional college teaching role.
Course content, assignments, and learning activities have already been developed. Instructors serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for learners throughout the course experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and grading student assignments
- Providing meaningful, timely, and constructive feedback
- Responding to learner questions and course-related communications
- Supporting learner success throughout the 12-week course term
- Encouraging the practical application of project management principles and best practices
- Maintaining a professional, engaging, and supportive learning environment
There are no live class sessions, lectures, or curriculum development responsibilities associated with this position.

Required Qualifications
- Active PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification
- Professional experience leading or managing projects
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to provide detailed, actionable feedback to adult learners
- Ability to maintain regular engagement throughout a 12-week course term
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Canvas or another learning management system
- Experience teaching, training, mentoring, coaching, or supervising professionals
- Knowledge of predictive, Agile, and hybrid project management approaches
- Additional project management certifications or credentials
- Experience preparing individuals for PMP® certification
Pay: From $100.00 per hour
