Enersite Utility & Site Services is a growing utility and site development contractor serving commercial, municipal, and infrastructure projects throughout New England. We specialize in underground utility installation, water and sewer systems, excavation, grading, site development, stormwater infrastructure, and heavy civil construction.
We're looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator who takes pride in quality workmanship, operates equipment safely, and enjoys working as part of a team. What You'll Do:
Heavy Equipment Operation
- Safely operate excavators, loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, rollers, and other heavy construction equipment.
- Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and site preparation.
- Assist with underground utility installation, including water, sewer, stormwater, and drainage systems.
- Support utility crews throughout all phases of construction.
Site Construction
- Perform general labor duties when equipment operation is not required.
- Assist with utility installation and restoration work.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Read plans, grade stakes, measurements, and project layouts.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites.
Safety & Quality
- Conduct daily equipment inspections.
- Report maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship while meeting project schedules.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating heavy construction equipment is required.
- Experience with excavation, underground utilities, site work, or heavy civil construction preferred.
- Experience working on water utility projects is strongly preferred.
- Maine Hydrology License is a plus but not required.
- OSHA 10 Certification is a plus but not required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely lift 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read plans, grade stakes, and construction measurements.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
- Willingness to work overtime as project demands require.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Water main installation
- Sewer installation
- Stormwater systems
- Underground utility construction
- Excavation and grading
- Heavy civil construction
- Site development
- Commercial construction
- Utility trenching
- Concrete work
