Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), brushes, rollers, and conventional spraying equipment to apply coatings accurately and efficiently
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to determine appropriate painting methods and materials for each project
- Perform structural painting tasks on various surfaces such as stucco, masonry, fixtures, and framing components during renovation or restoration projects
- Conduct surface preparation in compliance with construction painting standards and safety regulations to minimize hazards and ensure long-lasting results
- Utilize color theory knowledge to select appropriate hues and finishes that meet client specifications and aesthetic goals
- Follow safety protocols diligently by wearing respiratory protection and other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), adhering to all safety regulations on construction sites
- Assist with remodeling or handyman tasks such as fixture installation or minor carpentry work as needed to support project completion
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and communicate progress effectively with team members and supervisors
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction estimating related to painting projects including material quantities and timeframes
- Strong understanding of color theory principles for effective visual color comparison and matching
- Proven expertise in residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, and surface preparation techniques
- Proficiency with ladder use, scaffolding setup, and working at heights safely on various job sites
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools (including airless paint sprayers), spray equipment (conventional spraying), brushes, rollers, caulking guns, plastering tools, masonry tools, fixture installation tools, frame carpentry tools, and basic maintenance equipment
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to safety protocols at all times
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as blueprints or surface specifications accurately for precise application of coatings
- Experience with blueprint reading for renovation or restoration projects involving multiple surfaces or complex structures
- Capable of performing surface preparation tasks like sanding, cleaning surfaces thoroughly before painting begins
- Familiarity with masonry work including stucco application or repair as part of comprehensive construction painting services
- Basic math skills for measuring areas accurately and calculating material needs efficiently
- Experience with coating application techniques suited for both interior and exterior surfaces across various environments
