Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Upsell products and promote special deals or new items to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are attractive and accessible
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and ready for customers at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for accurate transactions
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries or customer concerns over the phone
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities or team support roles
- Ability to perform retail math calculations quickly and accurately for daily operations
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and retail sales techniques
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and positive demeanor
