Federal Steel & Erection Co. is a full service structural steel fabrication and erection company specializing in industrial, petrochemical, steel mill, mining, refining and commercial projects. For over 65 years our customers have entrusted Federal to provide steel design, fabrication and erection services on their projects. Federal Steel self performs all phases of the steel supply/install processes. We offer our customers the option of full service (from conception to completion) or separate tasks of design, detail, fabricate, finish and/or erect.
We are searching for an energetic professional for a detailing project manager position. Qualified applicants must be proficient in understanding shop and erection drawings, have the ability to multitask, be a good communicator, and be organized. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years steel detailing experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage work flow for employees and monitor progression of work.
- Manage contract detailers
- Read and interpret the structural and architectural contract drawings
- Modeling/ Detailing in accordance with client standards
- Detail structural and miscellaneous steel (including columns, beams, canopies, braces, joists, stairs, handrails, metal decking, site steel and more)
- RFI creation/ implementation and coordination
- Preparing drawings for submittal
- Meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- An ability to keep accurate drawing log and document control from creation to completion
- Interface with clients and company management
Qualifications and Skills
· 10+ years’ experience in Structural/Miscellaneous steel detailing/checking
· Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D Software such as SDS/2 or Tekla
· Knowledge of applicable building codes
· High School Diploma (Min.)
· Ability to work overtime if needed
· Must be able to pass drug screening

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
