Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our home health team, providing vital communication and swallowing therapy to pediatric patients in their homes. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat children with speech, language, and related disorders, helping them achieve meaningful communication skills and improve their quality of life. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for pediatric patients, including evaluating speech production, language comprehension, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing function.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's specific needs, incorporating evidence-based therapy techniques.
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions focused on improving speech clarity, language skills, social communication, and feeding/swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure consistent progress.
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy strategies as needed to maximize outcomes.
- Educate families on home exercises and strategies to reinforce therapy goals between visits.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations in school or clinical settings is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques tailored for children with diverse communication needs.
- Familiarity with early intervention programs and protocols for infants and young children.
- Understanding of physiology related to speech production and swallowing functions.
- Proficiency in patient assessment methods and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care.
- Knowledge of anatomy pertinent to speech-language pathology is preferred.
