Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate is a new or experienced CDL or Class A commercial driving and a strong understanding of various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, dry vans, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers. This role involves transporting general freight safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Operate an automatic transmission 53 foot semi-trailer.
- Load and unload freight as required (rarely), ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered during transport.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Valid work authorization for non-citizens.
- Familiarity with electronic log books, and logistical operation
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures as well as freight handling practices.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks when necessary for loading/unloading tasks.
- Strong knowledge of route driving and navigation skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
