Position: Lifeguard- Part-time, Seasonal
Summary:
Lifeguards work under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator and Aquatics Program Manager.
Shift Availability: General Hours: Mon-Thurs (5-9pm), Sat (8am-4pm), Sun (9am-12:30pm)
Qualifications:
● Must be at least 15 years of age.
● American Red Cross Lifeguard certified.
● Must be able to successfully demonstrate the knowledge and skills taught in the American Red Cross Lifeguard course.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is scanning and surveillance of their respective zone at the pool facilities.
- Is prepared to respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate emergency care to the level of their training.
- Observe, enforce, and explain all facility rules and regulations.
- Prevent injury and minimize or eliminate hazards.
- Administer and/or assist with basic First Aid and completion and submission of incident report forms.
- Attend all mandatory staff trainings.
- Communicate all program changes, incidents, needs, or concerns to immediate supervisor or department program administrator.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or department administrator.
- Representative of the Recreation Department, uphold and exemplify department policies and guidelines in all aspects of job performance and in relationships with children, families and district employees as outlined in the department employee handbook.
