Position Summary:
The Low Voltage Technician will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects, contributing to the installation, integration, and troubleshooting of sophisticated audio-visual and low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, a commitment to quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cable Management and Termination: Perform precise pulling and termination of AV and low-voltage cables, adhering to industry best practices and project specifications.
- System Integration: Execute the interconnection of AV components within system racks, ensuring accurate and efficient configuration.
- Hardware Installation: Conduct the wiring and installation of hardware components, maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Testing and Validation: Operate cable testing equipment to verify system integrity and performance.
- Equipment Deployment and Setup: Deploy and configure audio-visual equipment, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Project Timelines: Meet all installation deadlines, demonstrating effective time management and organizational skills.
- Construction Support: Perform light construction tasks and operate power tools safely and efficiently.
- Network Systems: Install, configure, and troubleshoot network systems related to AV installations.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve AV system issues, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
- Code Compliance: Adhere to electrical and low-voltage codes, ensuring all installations meet regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all installation and troubleshooting activities.
- Client Interaction: Professionally interact with architects, builders, and homeowners, representing Central Coast Audio Visual with integrity.
Qualifications:
- Desiring 5 years of experience in low-voltage system installation.
- Proven expertise in Savant, Crestron, or Lutron systems is highly preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and/or low-voltage codes.
- Proficiency in using a complete set of trade tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong understanding of network systems and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to receive and respond constructively to feedback.
- Electrical knowledge and experience is a significant advantage.
- Willingness to work 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate: $25.00 - $40.00, commensurate with skill set and experience.
