Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct daily equipment checks and cleaning.
- Maintain consistent fuel supply on the walking floor to ensure uninterrupted fuel delivery to the boilers
-Report any abnormalities to the CRO and record issues on the Fuel Handler -Check Sheet and Heavy Equipment Inspection sheet.
- Assists the CRO through onsite inspection and operation of plant systems and gains the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve the next career progression level.
- Accountable to the CRO and ultimately the assistant plant manager and operates within the context and prescribed limits established by management
- Monitors plant operation through visual inspection.
- Performs light maintenance activities and supports operations as necessary
- Maintain work area in an organized and clean manner
- Performs miscellaneous tasks as directed by CRO
- Operate all equipment in a safe and acceptable manner.
- Demonstrates a high performance, safety focused, and achievement-oriented, manner of working.
- Ensures that assigned tools, equipment, and work area are properly maintained and secured.
- Assists Mechanical Maintenance, I&C and Operations as required time permitting
- Shall use Three-Way radio communication to ensure safe and reliable operation of the unit
- The fuel handler position is an entry level position; management’s expectation is that within six months after initial hire the fuel handler shall have a basic understanding and be able to explain all plant systems.
