Compensation & Benefits beginning July 1st, 2026
- Starting wage: $30.62/hour
- Top rate: $40.17/hour after 4 years (7/1/2028)
- MERS Pension: 3.0 multiplier (25/50)
- Comprehensive benefits package: Blue Cross Blue Shield medical, dental, and optical
- Holiday Time: 14 floating holidays per year
- Vacation Time: 80 hours to start
- Sick Leave: 8 hours earned monthly
- Shift Premium: 2% shift premium for afternoon and night shift
LATERAL TRANSFERS
- 1–2 years of prior law enforcement experience: Step 1 (One-Year Wage) — $33.05/hour
- 2–3 years of prior law enforcement experience: Step 2 (Two-Year Wage) — $34.65/hour
- 3+ years of prior law enforcement experience: Step 3 (Three-Year Wage) — $36.26/hour
Minimum Requirements
- Associate’s Degree preferred
- MCOLES certified or certifiable
- U.S. citizen, 21 years of age or older at time of employment
- Valid driver’s license
- No disqualifying convictions or criminal history
