Mechanic Shop Helper
Ground Control Property Services is looking for a dependable and motivated Mechanic Shop Helper to support our fleet maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working around trucks and equipment and wants to build a career in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver parts from local suppliers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop
- Assist mechanics with repairs and preventative maintenance
- Perform light mechanical repairs and basic maintenance
- Change oil, filters, fluids, and grease equipment
- Wash and clean trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Organize tools, parts, and shop inventory
- Dispose of used oil, filters, and other shop materials properly
- Move trucks and equipment around the yard as needed
- Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing parts deliveries
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience using hand and power tools is preferred
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Forklift experience is a plus (training available)
