Build projects that matter
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout in the Hampton Roads market.
This role is ideal for a PM who can drive schedule, budget, subcontractor coordination, and client communication while partnering closely with field leadership and internal teams.
You will have a direct impact on project success, client satisfaction, and profitability.
What you’ll do
- Lead commercial construction projects from buyout through closeout
- Manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, contracts, and overall project financial performance
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor coordination, and contract negotiations
- Manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, pay applications, and reporting using Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- Partner with superintendents to ensure projects stay on schedule, safe, and aligned with quality standards
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality control
- Build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Identify and resolve project risks, delays, and cost impacts early
- Mentor project engineers and support team development
- Ensure timely project closeout, punch list completion, and turnover documentation
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor or construction manager
- Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, contracts, safety regulations, and building codes
- Experience with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work on-site in the Hampton Roads area
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with large-scale commercial projects (e.g., healthcare, higher education, municipal, multifamily, hospitality)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Certifications such as PMP, LEED, or OSHA
- Experience with additional tools such as Civil, HeavyBid, or similar platforms
