American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Neuroscience Med/Surg Night Shift position in Saint Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient acute care Med/Surg and Neuro experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Neuroscience/Neurology unit within an acute care hospital setting

Patient population includes stroke, seizures, MS, spinal, head, and back injuries, as well as post-neurosurgery patients

Patient ratio of 1:5–6

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Rotating weekends required (every other Saturday and Sunday)

No on-call responsibilities

Floating within scope as needed
-
EMR: Epic (experience required)
-
On-site FIT testing required
-
Active MO or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled

Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care Med/Surg and Neuro experience required

Willingness to take on occasional Charge RN responsibilities

Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)

No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient-centered care including assessment, care coordination with other departments, and evaluation of care provided by other direct caregivers

Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information

Charge RN experience is preferred but not required
-
Black scrubs required

Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced bill rate
-
Candidates living within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after completing 3 contracts, a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required

Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) per 13-week period is allowed and must be made up during the assignment
-
Candidates should expect to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)

13-week contract with potential extension up to 26 weeks
