Diversified Wood Products (Jeffersonville, IN) is currently hiring an Experienced Veneer Splicer Operator position at our Jeffersonville plant location. We expect that you will be able to produce 100 or more faces daily, and be comfortable with multiple species and configurations. Matching and blueprint work are regularly required.
Position responsibilities will include:
- Ability to Handle and Move Objects - Using hands and arms to handle, install, position and move veneer materials and manipulate bundles of veneer or storage tables.
- Attention to Detail, Getting Information- Observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Ability to read and understand work orders and blueprints. Ability to communicate with sales-team members.
- Monitoring Processes, Materials and Surroundings - Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events , or the environment, to detect or assess problems. The ability to identify issues or problems with veneer quality.
- Controlling Machines and Processes - Using machine control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes to ensure a proper cut of the veneer for matching. The ability to double check your own work and report any issues found.
- Judging the Quality - Assessing the value, importance, or quality of each specie of veneer before cutting. Properly understanding each Grade and proper matching.
- Communication - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email or in person.
- Training and Teaching Others - Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
