Job Description: Purchasing Associate/Departmental Buyer
General Position Summary
The purchasing associate is responsible for buying, receiving, and organizing all supplies for the club. These products supply the following departments- Food and Beverage, Overnight Rooms, Health Club, Maintenance, Administrative.
Responsibilities
· Take inventory of all supplies on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis (depending on product)
· Order supplies including but not limited to: all food items, office supplies, coffee, beer, wine and spirits, kitchenware, glassware, stemware, flatware, china, etc.
· Work closely with food and beverage teams to order necessary products
· Responsible for the accuracy and quality of products upon accepting delivery of goods
· Using the program Craftable for processing invoices and maintaining inventory
· Manage vendor relationships
· Search out specialty products when needed
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of dry storage rooms, freezer, walk-ins, and delivery areas
· Monitor cost of goods for market fluctuations
· Collaborate with Club’s controller on purchases/ authorized spending
· Ability to assist in other areas of the Club
· Attend management meetings when needed
· Attend and assist at Club events as requested during nights and weekends
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
Required Skill and Experiences
· Knowledge of food and beverage operations
· Strong verbal and written communication
· Basic Excel skills
· Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions
· Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· King County Food Handlers Card
· High School Diploma
· WA State Driver’s License
· Strong driving record
