The Neuro-Immunopathogenesis Unit of the NIH NIAID Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Microbiology is now seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship position.
Applicants will join a translational research team focused on the immunopathogenesis of neuroinflammatory disorders, with a particular emphasis on understanding how immune dysregulation contributes to neurological disease. Our program emphasizes basic and translational research to identify the underlying mechanisms of neuroinflammatory disorders and develop targeted therapeutic approaches that may ultimately be translated into clinical care.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, one of the largest institutes within the National Institutes of Health, conducts and supports both basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in immunology, neuroscience, neurobiology, neuroimmunology, or a related field, and a strong interest in studying interactions between the immune and nervous systems. Experience with immunological assays, iPSC-based models, and basic molecular biology techniques is desirable.
Trainees will receive health insurance as well as a stipend commensurate with their experience. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply.
