SUMMARY: As a Powder Coat Technician, a coating technician selects, mixes and then applies paints or chemicals to various surfaces utilizing different application devices, like a spray gun, to perform their duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high technology, manufacturing environment and works well in a matrix structure across all levels of the organization.
- Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application

Prepare, match colors and mix standard and other primers, paints and coatings to proper consistency and viscosity, using thinners, solvents, additives and agitators as required.

Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments

Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects

Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers

Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance

Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment

Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment

Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.

Follow quality service and safety standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.

One to two years related experience or equivalent.
