Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support as needed.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, document observations accurately
- Administer medications following individualized service plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Support clients during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration
- Operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts and perform patient transfers safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, alerting healthcare professionals as necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards
- Assist with specialized care such as autism, ADHD, Intellectual disabilities, or behavioral care programs, etc.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, Individual homes, Community programs, residential facilities, or day support environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR and first aid certification required or obtainable upon hire
- Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, and vital signs monitoring essential for success in this role preferred if not will train
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges highly valued
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina is necessary for active caregiving tasks
- Strong understanding of HIPAA privacy standards and confidentiality practices in healthcare settings
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and team members
