Bilingual Advocate (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Position Summary
Casa Fortaleza is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Advocate to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management services to survivors of sexual violence of all ages. This position works directly with survivors and their loved ones by offering emotional support, safety planning, referrals, accompaniment services, and connections to community resources.
The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and committed to social justice, immigrant rights, and the prevention of sexual violence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide first responder advocacy services to survivors of sexual violence
- Answer phones and greet clients in a welcoming and supportive manner
- Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and active listening to survivors and non-offending loved ones
- Inform survivors of their rights and available resources
- Accompany survivors to SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) forensic exams
- Assist clients with safety planning and referrals to community resources
- Connect survivors to emergency food, housing, transportation, legal services, workforce training, and educational resources
- Maintain an active caseload and provide ongoing advocacy support
- Collaborate with law enforcement, immigrant rights organizations, and community partners to improve access to services for Spanish-speaking survivors
- Assist with support groups, therapy services, outreach presentations, and agency trainings
- Enter accurate and timely client data into the agency database while maintaining confidentiality
- Provide childcare support for clients during appointments and services when appropriate
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions
- Share on-call duties on rotational schedule
- Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish required
- Commitment to social justice, immigrant rights, and anti-violence work
- Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing trauma
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Experience in advocacy, social services, crisis intervention, or related field required
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of community resources and victim advocacy services
- Experience working with diverse and immigrant communities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with case management and database documentation
