Job Overview
The Mariner is heading into its fourth year, and we’re looking for the right chef to help lead the next chapter. We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to run a line or put their name on a menu. We’re looking for a strong, hands-on kitchen leader who cares about the food, the people, and the operation behind both. This person will help lead daily kitchen operations, maintain high standards for food quality and consistency, keep the kitchen organized and accountable, and develop a team that takes pride in what they put on the plate. There is plenty of room for creativity here, but it works best when backed by preparation, discipline, and consistency.
Must have:

- Comfortable following recipes and standards
- Can lead a line
- Can delegate
- Can hold people accountable
- Understands cleanliness and organization
- Doesn't need constant supervision
- Labor control discipline
Strongly preferred:
- Inventory experience
- Ordering experience
- Food-cost awareness
- Recipe costing
- Menu development
- Training experience
- Ability to coach less experienced cooks
Personality requirement:
— Humble enough to learn, confident enough to lead.
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
