SUMMARY
The Director of Sales is a key member of the hotel’s leadership team, responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and developing strategic partnerships within the North Dallas and surrounding markets.
This role leads all proactive and reactive sales efforts, builds strong client relationships, and collaborates closely with the General Manager, Regional Operations Manager and Revenue Management to maximize profitability while maintaining the high service standards associated with the Holiday Inn Express & Suites brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Revenue & Sales Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing plan to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Identify and secure new corporate, group, government, tour & travel, wedding, and SMERF business.
- Maintain and grow top-producing accounts through consistent communication and relationship management.
- Respond to RFPs and negotiate contracts in alignment with brand and ownership guidelines.
- Ensure optimal business mix and rate integrity.
- Participate in weekly revenue strategy meetings and portfolio-wide sales initiatives.
Client & Community Engagement
- Actively prospect through cold calls, networking events, chamber meetings, and community involvement.
- Represent the hotel at local civic organizations and regional trade shows.
- Conduct site tours and client presentations.
- Greet and support clients during in-house group and event stays.
- Maintain a strong digital and local presence for the hotel.
Operational Collaboration
- Work closely with the General Manager, Regional Operations Manager and Revenue Manager to review past, present, and future business trends.
- Oversee group billing, contracts, and invoicing accuracy.
- Ensure seamless communication between sales, front desk, housekeeping, and operations teams.
- Submit weekly sales activity and production reports.
- Utilize IHG sales tools, CRM systems, and reporting platforms to make data-driven decisions.
Leadership & Accountability
- Exercise independent judgment on pricing, negotiations, and client agreements.
- Manage workflow, prioritize opportunities, and meet deadlines.
- Contribute to overall hotel profitability and guest satisfaction scores.
- Support a positive and team-oriented workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years hotel sales experience (IHG experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of hospitality sales strategies and revenue management principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Hotel Key and sales systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel locally (approximately 25%)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field)

Schedule
- Work a minimum of 55 hours a week
- Occasional evenings/weekends for networking and events
- On-call as needed
