Team Wellness Center is seeking motivated and compassionate Employment Specialists to assist members with obtaining and maintaining competitive employment that aligns with their individual vocational goals.
This position works directly with members to identify employment goals, conduct individualized job searches, provide job coaching, and collaborate with treatment teams and community employers. The Employment Specialist will spend a significant portion of their time in the community supporting members and developing relationships with local businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage members and develop trusting, collaborative relationships focused on competitive employment.
- Assist members in understanding how earned income may impact their benefits.
- Develop and regularly update individualized career profiles and employment plans.
- Conduct individualized job development and job-search activities based on each member’s interests and goals.
- Build relationships with employers and provide education and support regarding member employment.
- Provide job coaching both on and off job sites as needed.
- Conduct outreach when members miss employment appointments.
- Collaborate with mental health treatment teams and other service providers to coordinate care and employment services.
- Maintain required caseload, productivity, documentation, and confidentiality standards.
- Spend a minimum of 65% of scheduled work hours in the community, meeting with members and developing relationships with businesses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with members.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance provider.
- Reliable personal transportation for travel to work-related locations and transporting members as needed.
Additional Preferred/Position Requirements
The current job description also identifies lived experience in recovery from a behavioral health or substance use diagnosis/background and self-identification as a Peer Support Specialist in continued recovery as qualifications.
