The Lazy Bear Gift Shop at Deep Creek Lake is looking for an energetic, organized, creative leader to help run our fast-growing boutique gift shop and become a big part of our brand experience.
This is NOT a boring retail management job.
We’re a colorful, playful, lake-life gift shop located at The Shoppes at The Fort in Deep Creek Lake. We sell boutique gifts, apparel, souvenirs, home décor, local goods, seasonal items, and fun products that make people smile while they’re on vacation.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Loves people and customer service
- Can lead a small team confidently
- Takes ownership and solves problems
- Enjoys merchandising and making things look beautiful
- Is comfortable creating Instagram/Facebook content
- Can keep up in a busy tourist environment
- Wants to help grow a fun local business
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day retail operations
- Open and close the store
- Lead and motivate team members
- Maintain store appearance and merchandising
- Handle inventory and restocking
- Assist with hiring and scheduling
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Create social media content, stories, reels, and posts
- Help execute promotions, events, and seasonal displays
- Keep the shop clean, organized, positive, and upbeat
Ideal Candidate
- Retail management experience preferred
- Social media/content creation experience is a HUGE plus
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Positive attitude and team player
- Weekend availability required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
