Kennel Assistant
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking kennel assistant to help care for the dogs in our facility and maintain a clean, organized environment. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced animal care setting and is passionate about dog welfare.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning kennels and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the facility
- Scooping waste and disposing of trash and debris as needed
- Feeding and watering dogs
- Assisting with daily medications and basic treatments as directed
- Bathing dogs and providing basic grooming care
- Photographing dogs for records and social media use
- Cleaning and organizing kennel buildings, supplies, and common areas
- Monitoring dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, or health and reporting concerns
- Assisting with general daily care and enrichment of dogs
Requirements
- Comfortable working around dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain physically active throughout shifts
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Comfortable cleaning animal waste and handling messy tasks
- Basic communication and teamwork skills
- Basic social media literacy is a plus
- Previous animal care experience preferred but not required
- Passion for animal welfare and rescue work
- Flexible start/ end - 8-9:30 am start/ 12-2 pm end - Great for mom with school-age kids!
- Flexible start / end - 3-4pm start/ 6-8 end - second person after school!
- Sunday availability needed
Pay: From $12.00 per hour
