Franklin Precision Castings is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for overseeing our weekend production operations on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Schedule Benefit: Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours!
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with manufacturing experience who enjoy working independently and taking ownership of production responsibilities.
Training Period
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Approximately 3–4 months of hands-on training before transitioning to the weekend schedule
Position Summary
The Machine Operator supports our automated Shellroom operations by operating robotic equipment used in the investment casting process. This position is responsible for monitoring robotic systems, performing quality checks, maintaining process documentation, and ensuring production requirements are met safely and efficiently.
After completing training, the Weekend Shift Operator will be expected to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions to keep production running smoothly.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate robotic shell-building equipment and automated production systems
- Load and unload casting patterns and production fixtures
- Monitor robotic operations and identify process abnormalities
- Perform viscosity testing, specific gravity testing, and other process checks
- Record production and quality data accurately
- Follow established work instructions and process specifications
- Troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the work area
- Communicate production concerns and equipment issues to supervisors and maintenance personnel
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications Required
- Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or industrial work experience
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Commitment to workplace safety
- Experience in operating machines in a manufacturing environment
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
