Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association is seeking applications for a full time Communication Coordinator position in Rhinelander, WI. The successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, be extremely organized, efficient, professional, and a team player.
Position Description
Manages the methods in which GLTPA communicates with its members, the industry, and the general public.
Primary Objectives
Ensure GLTPA’s communication methods are providing current, relevant, meaningful, and engaging material that demonstrates the integrity of the Association and maintains its position as the “go-to” organization.
Major Areas of Responsibility
· Provide exceptional customer service
· Coordinate the content, display ads, and overall look of the Great Lakes TPA Magazine.
· Obtain GLTPA materials as needed
· Manage GLTPA membership database, Accounts Receivable invoicing, and other GLTPA A/R as needed
· Other duties as assigned
Specific Responsibilities of the Job
· Answer GLTPA phone promptly
· Respond to calls, voicemails, fax, letters, and/or emails promptly (within 24-48 hours), relay messages as needed
Great Lakes TPA Magazine
· Coordinate content and advertising within the monthly publication
· Assist in the creation of the media kit, editorial calendar, flyers, brochures and other marketing materials
· Design, proof and edit issue content, write articles when necessary
- Provide print ready PDF files for all print materials including, but not limited to, the monthly TPA Magazine
· Manage the equipment pool ads, including invoicing
· Maintain an ongoing list of current writers and research new potential writers
· Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and maintain communication with the GLTPA Communications Committee
· Implement an integrated monthly association E-Newsletter utilizing constant contact
· Order GLTPA supplies as needed (shirts, office supplies, logging signs, etc.)
· Assist team members in creating/editing documents if needed.
· Carry out annual membership invoicing and record renewed/new memberships in appropriate places (membership database, QuickBooks, subscription records, etc)
· Send out membership letters/email as needed
· Complete additional GLTPA A/R tasks as needed (ie: subscription renewals, advertising invoicing, rent invoicing, deposits, etc)
· Participate in GLTPA mail rotation
· Participate in staff meetings
· Prepare coffee, water, etc. for meetings that will take place in the GLTPA building
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
· Must have articulate oral and written communication skills
· Must be detail oriented
· Must have excellent interpersonal skills
· Must have a pleasant, professional demeanor
· Experience providing customer service via phone, fax, and written communication methods (paper & electronic)
· Experience using Adobe Suites: Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and other programs. QuickBooks, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access programs
· Must have ability to work at an independent pace that does not hinder the ability of other FISTA/GLTPA team members to complete their tasks
· Must work well with others and operate as part of a team
· Must have physical ability to sit or stand for up to four hours and safely manage stairs.
· Travel as needed for events, including overnight stays if necessary
Education
· Graduation for accredited high school or equivalent diploma
· Two years of college, technical training or work experience relative to position is preferred
· Forest industry knowledge is preferred Pay commensurate with experience and knowledge.
