Principal Accountabilities and Essential Duties of the Job
Displays leadership in supporting LRHS mission and values. Supports quality improvement by doing things the right way the first time and is flexible to change. Essential responsibilities as defined in the ADA are:
Demonstrate technical and professional competence in high-risk procedures as listed in the department/unit employee development handbook. Provides coordination, facilitation, data support and follow-up for Quality Improvements efforts throughout the system. Develops current and/or retrospective studies for medical staff and or hospital teams. Reviews surgical and other invasive procedures through the use of screening criteria to identify problems throughout the system. Provides technical and coordinating support to medical staff and hospital performance improvement. Analyzes information for input of findings and identification of patterns/trends to be used in Quality Improvement initiatives. Ensures that files are accurate and maintained in a confidential manner. Provides data design and appropriate statistical analysis for assigned projects. Provides data support throughout the organization. Establishes and maintains relationships with physicians in order to develop professional trust and collaboration. Maintains current knowledge and ability to research best practices for clinical interventions, pathways and protocols. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of Performance Improvement tools and principles. Provides Performance Improvements training sessions as needed in collaboration with Performance Consulting.
Other responsibilities are:
Facilitates Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams. Participates in the development of departmental performance improvement goals. Serves on hospital and medical staff committees as appropriate. Assists with ongoing communication and assessment of the needs of trainers, i.e. facilitators/leaders, tools and techniques, etc. Participates in the development of departmental performance improvement goals. Designs, coordinates, implements and evaluates new programs and services as requested. Maintains current knowledge of Medical Staff bylaws, TJC standards and state regulations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Health Care related field
Certification/Licensure Required for Job: RN
An annual influenza vaccination is required.
