Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall financial operations. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will ensure our financial data is precise, timely, and compliant with industry standards. Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a portfolio of clients.
- Record and classify financial transactions in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Process bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations.
- Review and resolve account discrepancies and unusual transactions.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records as needed.
- Assist client with day-to-day accounting questions and requests.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate management reports and supporting schedules.
- Review financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare payroll tax returns.
- Work with a team in preparing 1099's.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online).
- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices, non-profit accounting procedures, and governmental accounting standards is highly desirable
- Familiarity with payroll processing, account reconciliation techniques, and financial report writing
- Strong understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and bank reconciliation processes
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks
- Experience working with various financial concepts including GAAP compliance and technical accounting practices is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records across multiple accounts
