Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our ready mix company. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment such as cement mixers, payloaders, excavators, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery using OEM schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system servicing, brake repairs, transmissions, and air brake systems.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, and power tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify electrical issues in engines, wiring harnesses, sensors, and control modules; perform electrical repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate service records documenting repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations and equipment assembly to support ongoing projects or machinery upgrades.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring equipment is returned to optimal working condition promptly.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment maintenance in dealership or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and tire service.
- Hands-on experience with OEM parts replacement and familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of using hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Experience working with farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklift trucks, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles or equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; familiarity with automotive diagnostics software is a plus.
