Are you an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant looking to join a growing, patient-focused ophthalmology practice? We are partnering with a leading specialty healthcare organization to identify skilled Ophthalmic Assistants for several opportunities throughout the Charlotte market.

What You'll Do
- Greet and room patients while obtaining vision history and chief complaints
- Document medical history, medications, allergies, and patient information in the EMR
- Perform ophthalmic testing including:
- Visual acuity
- Tonometry
- Refraction
- Visual fields
- Keratometry
- Pachymetry
- Ocular motility testing
- Lensometry
- And other diagnostic testing as needed
- Complete specialty testing such as OCT, topography, Pentacam, visual fields, and biometry
- Assist providers with exams, treatments, and in-office procedures
- Serve as a medical scribe when needed
- Educate patients and answer questions regarding care plans
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and surgeries
- Maintain accurate documentation and manage EMR work queues
- Support efficient patient flow in a fast-paced clinical environment
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months of Ophthalmology experience
- Strong patient-facing communication skills
- Comfortable working in a high-volume clinical setting
- Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed
- Strong computer and EMR skills
Preferred:
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
- Epic experience
- BLS certification
Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- Shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM
- No weekends
