Build the Future of an Integrated Tax & Investment Practice
An established and growing wealth management firm is seeking an experienced tax professional who is passionate about helping clients make smarter financial decisions—not just preparing tax returns.
This is a unique opportunity to become the tax leader within an integrated financial planning practice serving successful retirees, business owners, executives, physicians, and high-net-worth families.
Rather than focusing solely on compliance, you'll collaborate directly with financial advisors throughout the year to develop proactive tax strategies that improve clients' long-term financial outcomes.
If you're looking to escape the traditional public accounting model while continuing to practice high-level tax planning, we'd love to talk.
What You'll Do
Tax Preparation & Compliance
- Prepare and review individual, business, trust, estate, partnership, and S-Corporation tax returns
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws
- Manage client tax engagements from planning through filing
- Review complex tax situations and recommend practical solutions
- Utilize technology to improve efficiency and client experience
Year-Round Tax Planning
Tax planning—not simply tax preparation—is central to this role.
You'll work alongside wealth advisors to provide proactive guidance on:
- Roth conversion strategies
- Capital gains management
- Retirement income tax planning
- Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) strategies
- Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
- Charitable giving and donor-advised fund strategies
- Medicare IRMAA planning
- Social Security taxation
- Business succession planning
- Entity selection and tax optimization
- Estimated tax planning
- Multi-year tax projections
- Tax-efficient withdrawal strategies
- Estate and legacy planning
Integrated Wealth Planning
This role offers the opportunity to become part of a collaborative advisory team rather than operating independently.
You'll participate in:
- Client review meetings
- Financial planning discussions
- Retirement income planning
- Investment tax analysis
- Cash flow planning
- Business owner planning
- Coordination with estate attorneys and other professionals
- Developing comprehensive planning recommendations
Your tax expertise will directly influence investment decisions, retirement strategies, estate planning, charitable giving, and long-term wealth preservation.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who enjoys building relationships just as much as preparing returns.
Ideal qualifications include:
- CPA preferred (EA or experienced tax professional considered)
- 5+ years of tax preparation and planning experience
- Experience with individual and small business taxation
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A proactive, planning-oriented mindset
- Interest in collaborating with financial advisors
- Desire to help build and expand a growing tax practice
Experience with affluent clients, retirement planning, or wealth management is a plus but not required.
