POSITION SUMMARY
The Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) provides behavioral health rehabilitation and skill-building services to clients of Wealthy Hearts and Minds, DBA WHAM. Under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Supervisor, the QMHA implements interventions identified in each client's approved treatment or rehabilitation plan and supports progress toward individualized behavioral health goals. The QMHA must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, ethical conduct, accurate documentation, and compliance with WHAM policies and applicable Nevada Medicaid requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide assigned behavioral health rehabilitation and skill-building services within the employee's approved scope of responsibility.
· Assist clients with coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, social skills, independent living, and community integration.
· Follow the client's approved treatment or rehabilitation plan and implement interventions authorized by the supervising clinician.
· Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and families.
· Complete accurate, objective, individualized, and timely documentation for every client encounter.
· Document the intervention provided, the client's response, progress toward goals, and the plan for continued services.
· Report significant changes in client behavior, functioning, symptoms, or safety to the Clinical Supervisor.
· Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, suicidal or homicidal statements, emergencies, or other safety concerns.
· Participate in required supervision, staff meetings, training, and case reviews.
· Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect all confidential client information.
· Comply with WHAM policies, documentation standards, and applicable Nevada Medicaid requirements.
· Perform other duties assigned within the employee's qualifications, training, and authorized scope.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human-services-related field.
· Official transcripts or other acceptable proof of degree completion.
· Proof of completed Community Support Worker (CSW) training; or successful completion of a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of CSW-related training provided or approved by Wealthy Hearts and Minds, DBA WHAM, before independently providing assigned client services.
· Ability to communicate professionally and complete clear, accurate, and timely documentation.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and appropriate client relationships.
· Successful completion of all required background checks, exclusion screenings, credentialing, orientation, and onboarding requirements.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
· Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification, maintained throughout employment.
· Current negative Tuberculosis (TB) screening/clearance, maintained in accordance with WHAM policy and applicable requirements.
· Valid Nevada driver's license when community travel is required.
· Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance when community travel is required.
· Successful criminal background clearance and all other required screenings.
· Compliance with HIPAA, WHAM policies, and applicable Nevada Medicaid requirements.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
· WHAM New Employee Orientation.
· Proof of completed CSW training or completion of a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of WHAM-provided or WHAM-approved CSW-related training.
· Documentation and Electronic Health Record (EHR) training.
· HIPAA and Confidentiality training.
· Professional Boundaries training.
· Client Rights and Mandated Reporter training.
· Crisis Prevention and Safety training.
· Annual and ongoing competency training required by WHAM and applicable Nevada Medicaid policy.
SUPERVISION
The QMHA works under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Supervisor designated by WHAM. The employee must attend scheduled supervision, follow clinical direction, report client concerns promptly, and seek guidance whenever a situation exceeds the employee's training, qualifications, or authority. The QMHA may not independently diagnose clients, change treatment plans, or provide services reserved for licensed clinical professionals.
