Daycare Van Driver
Job Summary:
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations. You will operate buses for various purposes, such as paratransit services or school bus routes. Your role will involve ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers throughout the journey.
Duties:
- Drive (up to 14 passengers) van along designated routes, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, assisting with boarding and disembarking
- Maintain a clean and well-presented bus interior
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition
- Communicate effectively with passengers and address any inquiries or concerns
- Educate passengers on safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Write reports on incidents, delays, or maintenance issues as needed
-Abide by and follow all DHS rules and regulations, as well as file reports on daily transportation logs, etc.
Experience:
-F Endorsement is required
-Must be 25+ years of age
-Must have a clean driving record
-Must have an F Endorsement / Will assist if needed
- Previous experience in bus driving, particularly in paratransit or school bus driving, is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge to handle basic maintenance tasks is a plus
- Bilingual proficiency is advantageous for communicating with diverse passengers
- Strong English communication skills to interact with passengers effectively
