Job Overview
We are a growing private therapy practice specializing in perinatal mental health, providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, pregnancy loss, and the transition to parenthood. Our mission is to create a safe, affirming space where clients receive exceptional, collaborative mental health care.
We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or an experienced Physician Assistant with psychiatric experience who shares our passion for supporting women and families during the perinatal period. Ideal candidates will have experience and passion providing care for the perinatal population.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
- Diagnose and treat a variety of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, with an emphasis on perinatal mental health
- Provide medication management and ongoing follow-up appointments
- Collaborate closely with therapists to provide integrated, team-based care
- Maintain timely, accurate, and insurance-compliant documentation
- Participate in case consultation and treatment planning as needed
- Build strong therapeutic relationships grounded in empathy and evidence-based practice
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant with prescribing authority in Colorado.
- Demonstrated experience in mental health medication management within hospital or outpatient settings.
- DEA license
- Experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and mood disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
- Proven ability to perform patient assessments involving complex medical terminology and critical thinking skills.
- Additional qualifications include pharmacy residency or clinical pharmacy experience focusing on mental health or critical care settings; pediatric experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a commitment to patient service and education; aseptic technique knowledge is advantageous for certain procedures.
Preferred:
- Experience working with pregnant and postpartum individuals
- Training or certification in perinatal mental health (or interest in obtaining specialized training)
- Experience in outpatient/private practice settings
- Familiarity with collaborative care models
