Responsibilities
- Stock shelves with produce and garden center merchandise, ensuring products are well-organized, properly labeled, and visually appealing
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely to load, unload, and move inventory throughout the warehouse and sales floor
- Use RF scanners to accurately track inventory levels, perform stock counts, and update product information in the system
- Assist customers by providing product knowledge on produce items and gardening supplies, answering questions with enthusiasm and clarity
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce section and garden center area to meet health and safety standards
- Support shipping & receiving processes by loading/unloading shipments efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including packaging products, cleaning workspaces, and ensuring equipment is in good working order
Qualifications
- Previous retail store experience or grocery store experience preferred; familiarity with produce or gardening products is a plus
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or RF scanners required; warehouse experience highly valued
- Previous plant experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory control accurately using inventory management systems
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices
- Basic math skills for counting stock, managing inventory levels, and processing transactions efficiently
- Customer service orientation with a positive attitude; previous retail sales or cashiering experience is beneficial
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create attractive displays that enhance product appeal
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
