American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position at a Level I Trauma facility in Arizona, requiring active AZ or compact RN licensure, ACLS, and on-call availability.

Acute care setting, Cardiac Cath Lab unit with 3 main cath lab rooms, 1 EP lab, and 1 hybrid room handling both vascular and cardiac cases

Common cases include interventional, EP lab, peripherals, cardiology and vascular, MitraClip, TAVR, IABP, and EMTALA placement — approximately 10–25 cases per day

RNs circulate; no scrubbing required

EMR: Cerner and Xper (Philips); Philips telemetry monitoring and Siemens equipment used

Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM), Monday–Friday

On-call required: 6–10 call shifts per schedule with a 30-minute response time required

Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Holidays worked on a rotating basis

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Charge Nurse and Rad Techs (circulating and scrub) available on the unit

Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7

Active AZ RN license or Compact (NLC) license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required — pending certifications not accepted

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Cardiac Cath Lab experience required; Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred — Level II experience may be considered

Cerner EMR experience beneficial

Must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility — driver's license is used to verify permanent address

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Must pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) with a score of 80% or higher before an offer can be confirmed; two attempts are allowed

On Day 1 of orientation, nurses must pass a pass/fail simulation lab (SIMs Lab) skills check for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes — study guides and videos are provided

Nurses who fail the Dysrhythmia exam after two attempts or fail the SIMs Lab sterile technique test will be ineligible to work at CommonSpirit Arizona facilities for 6 months

Sterile field competency is critical — nurses who break sterile field during SIMs Lab have been dismissed; candidates should be fully confident in maintaining sterile technique

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

2-day on-unit orientation provided

First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible — prior travel or strong Cath Lab background is expected given Level I screening requirements
