Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their oral health is maintained through thorough assessments and treatments. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, patient assessment techniques, and aseptic procedures.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews and oral examinations.
- Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral hygiene.
- Educate patients on proper oral care techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Manage medical records accurately, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for scheduling, patient records, and treatment planning.
- Apply aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment during procedures.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Stay informed about advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health.
- Familiarity with dental clinic operations and protocols.
- Proficiency in medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing medical records.
- Experience with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred.
- Understanding of dental terminology and practices within the field.
