Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse (Weekend Coverage) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across various departments, including acute care, long-term care, and outpatient clinics during weekend shifts
- Perform patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations with precision and compassion
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments such as IV infusions and suturing following strict aseptic techniques
- Manage complex cases involving pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and critical care procedures including ventilator management and airway support
- Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems like Cerner or Athenahealth while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care to ensure seamless patient transitions
- Respond swiftly to emergencies such as trauma incidents or acute pain episodes, utilizing advanced critical care skills including trauma medicine and ICU experience
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, memory care needs, or in geriatrics and behavioral health settings
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with Cerner is a plus
- Skilled in performing invasive procedures including catheterization, phlebotomy, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques
- Expertise in emergency response protocols like Basic Life Support (BLS), neonatal resuscitation procedures, and critical & intensive care practices
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with excellent patient assessment skills and critical thinking capabilities
- Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals is highly desirable
