Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Baker Opener to join our dynamic bakery team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing the bakery for daily operations by opening the kitchen, setting up equipment, and ensuring all baked goods are produced efficiently and to high standards. Responsibilities
- Open the bakery each morning, ensuring all equipment is operational and workspace is clean and organized
- Prepare baked goods, including mixing, measuring ingredients, and following recipes accurately
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, knives, and pastry tools safely and efficiently
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision, adhering to presentation standards
- Package baked items carefully for sale or catering orders while maintaining product quality
- Maintain a clean workspace by following food safety protocols, sanitizing surfaces, and properly storing ingredients
- Assist in high-volume production processes to meet daily demand while adhering to recipe specifications
- Support food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues on food preparation and customer service tasks
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, baking, or pastry preparation is highly preferred
- Familiarity with cake decorating, food handling, and operating kitchen equipment is advantageous
- Experience in high-volume baking environments or catering settings is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and recipe adherence is essential
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in pastry preparation are desirable
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately are required
- Prior customer service experience in a food industry setting is beneficial
