Restaurant Turnaround & Multi-Unit Operations Director
Houston, TX | $65,000 to $90,000/year
Anthony’s New York Italian Kitchen / Russo’s New York Pizzeria is seeking an experienced Restaurant Turnaround & Multi-Unit Operations Director to improve restaurant performance, develop management teams, establish operating systems, support franchisees, and lead new-store openings.
This is a hands-on operational role, not a desk position. The successful candidate must be able to walk into a restaurant, identify operational and financial problems, develop an action plan, and execute the turnaround.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate underperforming restaurants and create turnaround action plans
- Oversee FOH and BOH operations
- Coach and hold General Managers accountable
- Analyze P&Ls, sales, labor, food cost, inventory, prime cost, and profitability
- Maintain targets of approximately 23% food + paper and 24% labor
- Improve staffing, scheduling, productivity, service, and guest experience
- Write, update, and implement restaurant SOPs and operating systems
- Conduct training for company restaurants and franchise locations
- Recruit, train, and develop management teams
- Conduct operational and quality-control audits
- Review vendors, invoices, purchasing, and cost controls
- Support franchisees with operational improvements and new-store openings
- Lead pre-opening and opening-week training
- Travel to company and franchise locations as required
Required Experience
- Must have participated in opening at least 10 restaurants within the last 5 years
- Proven experience turning around underperforming restaurants
- 5+ years of multi-unit restaurant leadership experience
- Strong FOH and BOH experience
- Strong P&L, food cost, labor cost, inventory, and prime-cost knowledge
- Proven ability to write and implement SOPs
- Experience training General Managers and restaurant teams
- Ability to travel regularly for restaurant openings and franchise support
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends when necessary
Compensation: $ 65,000 $90,000 annually, 2 weeks paid vacation, health insurance contribution, and approved travel expenses/per diem.
Pay: $65,120.96 - $90,000.00 per year
