Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to support ophthalmic examinations.
- Prepare and operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as tonometry tools to facilitate accurate eye assessments.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR), ensuring accurate documentation of patient visits, test results, and treatment plans while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing questions professionally, and ensuring a comfortable experience for every patient.
Skills
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement and basic ophthalmic diagnostics with precision.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Prior medical office experience with a focus on patient care in Optometry settings preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for delivering clear instructions and providing compassionate patient care while supporting team collaboration.
